The dictionary defines the word mother as: "a woman in relation to a child or children to whom she has given birth. To bring up (a child) with care and affection; to give birth to." However, being a mother myself, I can say that it is much, much more complex!
Being a mother is a connection that is unmatched and insurmountable in any form or other relationship. Being a mother is a love that grows continuously, a love that always wants more and better.
Elizabeth (known as Beba to her family & friends), contacted me a few weeks ago to set up her maternity session and of course having a soft spot for a maternity beauty, I was beyond excited! It was even more special as this was the first time she would reveal the gender of her unborn to the world. At first, Beba did not want to know the sex of the baby for fear of having another boy (I can totally relate to this when I was pregnant with my second child, ha!) but when the sonographer revealed the sex, that fear turned into pure joy as her heart's desire for a little princess came true!
~A beautiful, mermaid princess is on the way! ~
Our maternity session began on a beautiful, lush area south west of the island. After lots of rainfall the day before, the humidity & the heat was definitely present but what a delight it was to capture these moments with Elizabeth & her son Johnathan aka "Manny".
Three year old big brother Manny, was such a cutie and super friendly. The bond he has with his mother is one of admiration, although I heard that he is quite a grandpa's baby. ☺ I know Manny will be the perfect big brother and is just as excited as his father, Johnathan (known as "Abbie") to meet his new sister and addition to the family.
Manny was all giggles and laughter as he showed me his little sister's first pair of divalicious shoes!
I love it when expecting mothers can still be fashionable throughout their pregnancy and Beba totally defined the expression as a "Fashionable Mommy to be! Her glow, aura and energy filled our session with lots of positivity & grace. She definitely slayed her maternity session!
Elizabeth is just a few weeks shy of giving birth to her mermaid princess and I know she has been counting down the days until she meets her baby girl. I pray she is blessed with a safe delivery, health, joy and overall lot's and lot's of love!
